03/02/07 Delavan Lake snowing/blowing 28 degrees. Winds west/southwest 20-40 mph. Barometric pressure 29.18R. Ice thickness 14", slushy on top. Fished on the west end with some "die hard" clients. Walking again was very tough for the kids, and adults! Two of us put our feet/legs through a couple old holes. Luckily one of us had dry socks. I was not that lucky, talk about cold feet! We had a fun day fishing with the kids. We set tip-ups and the kids jigged for pan fish. Many flags, but the pike pulled the old "run and drop" again. The kids caught quite few pan fish while waiting for the flags. We ended up with one Northern pike around 33" while we were packing up for the day. The weather was truly extreme once again on the big lake. Hopefully the slush on top will tighten up for safe walking. Thanks goes out to Bill and the kids for the trip up to brave mother nature's fury today.
