01/31/07 Geneva Lake, clear 5 degrees. Winds north/northwest 10-20 mph. Quite cold! Ice 4-5 inches. Barometric Pressure 30.13S. Fished in the early A.M. Caught a mess of perch in the 7-9" range. Saw many large perch on the camera, but not interested in the offering. I downsized quite a bit which scored me some keepers. I managed to hook a Northern but ended up donating a lure to a resident of the lake.
Delavan Lake, snowing 10 degrees. Winds west/southwest 10-15 mph. Ice 7". Barometric Pressure 29.31F. Fished P.M. Fished strictly walleyes. Marked around six fish in six different areas. Again I downsized, hooked a fish jigging but lost it half way up. No flags. Some days just marking fish is just as good as catching fish. You know your close, your in the right area, but just can't get the fish to commit. By the time I left tonight the wind chill had to be 10-15 below zero with the windchill. Now that is ice fishing!
